Indian Classical, Satriya, Dr. B.R Ambedkar National Award and National Teacher Award Holder Diganta Saikia was born on 9/10/1987 in the historical Natun Totaya village of Central Majuli to the late Jibakanta Saikia and late Chandrawati Saikia. He was a student at Burhakalita Primary School. He completed his primary education and enrolled for secondary education at Deodiaati Higher Primary School, Majuli. He completed his secondary education and enrolled for high school education at Milanjyoti High School, Tataya village, Majuli. After passing Class VIII, Diganta Saikia was enrolled in Class IX by the Principal of Keshabram Bora Higher Secondary School, Tankeswar Bhuyan. After studying at the school for two years, he passed the Matriculation Examination in 2003. After matriculation, he enrolled in Chamguri Satra, Rawanapar Model  Higher Secondary School, Majuli to start his higher secondary education. He completed his higher secondary education in 2005 and started his college career at Majuli College. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Assamese with Honours in 2008 and his Master’s Degree in Assamese with Honours from Dibrugarh University.
